Veneers

Dental veneers can be a versatile long term solution for anyone concerned about crooked, discoloured or chipped front teeth. They can even be used to close up unwanted gaps or create the effect of longer teeth. Veneers are thin coverings made from either porcelain or composite (white filling material). These are individually formed and then glued to the front of existing teeth, covering any imperfections to create a new and improved shape and colour.

Why choose veneers?

Many people turn to veneers as a solution because it is a minimally invasive cosmetic solution designed specifically for the teeth that are visible when eating or smiling. As veneers require only a small amount of tooth removal, they are generally kinder to the teeth, and if properly cared for, the result is many years of good looks.

What is the process?

We will always assess the teeth to make sure the existing teeth are healthy and strong enough to support a veneer. Next we shape the existing tooth to allow space for the veneer to sit over the top and make a mould of the front teeth. This mould is sent to a specialist laboratory where technicians create the veneers, to make sure they fit the shape and size of the natural teeth perfectly.

Once the veneers have been designed and produced the veneer is attached. Once in place, the veneers should feel and look like natural teeth.
